Julie Cayton

Julie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Special Education and Master’s degree in Special Education. She currently serves as the Director of the TRIO Upward Bound and Talent Search programs at Emporia State University in Kansas. Prior to this position, she served as the Associate Director of the Student Support Services program and as a Freshman and Second-Year Seminar Instructor. Julie has enjoyed her involvement on her institution’s campus in a variety of areas including the University Diversity & Inclusion Alliance and Faculty Senate. She has served in the MKN chapter and the Educational Opportunity Association in a variety of leadership roles including Chapter President, Emerging Leaders Institute trainer, and chairing numerous committees. She has presented on the state, regional, and national levels. Julie especially enjoys researching leadership and ways individuals improve non-cognitive skills.
